Welcome
Objective:
This peroxidase presentation aims to demonstrate how internet
databases can be of use for chemistry/biochemistry research and investigation
purposes.
Requirements:
- Browser
- any frames capable browser should be able to load the presentation
- however, it is recommended that the presentation be viewed using Netscape
4.7 since this was the broswer used for debugging and editing the webpages.
- Installation:
- Netscape Communicator is FREE and can be downloaded from the Netscape
Communications Corporation Website: http://home.netscape.com/
- if you are using the CD version of this presentation, the Netscape
Communicator 4.7 installer for Windows 95/98 is included
in the CD package. To install it from the CD, click
here.
- if there are any problems in installation, you can locate the
installer from the CD and run it from there. The installer is
inside the folder "Netscape Installer"
- Plugin
- Information
- this presentation requires a browser plug-in called Chemscape Chime
from MDL Information
Systems.
- Chime generates three-dimensional representations of molecules
- Installation
- Chime is FREE and may be downloaded from the MDLI website: http://www.mdli.com/
- if you are using the CD version of this presentation, Chime version
2.0.3 installer is included in the CD package. To install it
from the CD, click here.
- If there are any problems with installation, you can locate the Chime
installer from the CD inside the folder "Chime installer"
and run the program from there.
- Help on using Chime
- Graphics and Viewer Resolution
- The webpage is best viewed with a screen reolution
of 800x600 pixels in High Color (16 bit)
- viewing the webpage under different screen and color resolutions would
require caution since the colors and the molecule sizes/views would be
different from that originally intended.
