Sci 10-BB Final Oral Examinations
2nd Semester 2005-06
General directions
This exam is for those with a B+ or A class standing only. Borderline B/B+ also encouraged to take the final.
You will be given one of the following thesis statements to discuss in ~15 minutes. You may consult notes on ONE index card (max size of 5 in χ 8 in) during the exam. Please use only ONE language (either English or Pilipino) in your discussion.
Sign up at the Chemistry Department for orals on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (22-24 March).

Thesis statement 1
Ones personal decisions impact social decisions and vice-versa, but S&T and the options they offer are not necessarily major factors in the decision-making process.

Misconceptions exist in popular culture about what are good and bad science and technology, but the realities are more complex and must be weighed carefully, often resulting in compromises.

Science and technology development depends on society, and its consequences may be far-reaching and unintended.
Discuss using any topic covered in class except your report, showing the S&T principles and the key social implications.

Just as technology is the application of scientific knowledge, education finds its expression in action.
